Arrhythmias in Patients with Cardiac Amyloidosis: A Comprehensive Review on Clinical Management and Devices

چکیده
Cardiac amyloidosis (CA) is a rare but potentially life-threatening disease in which misfolded proteins accumulate the cardiac wall tissue. Heart rhythm disorders CA, including supraventricular arrhythmias, conduction system disturbances, or ventricular play major role CA morbidity and mortality, thus require supplementary management. Among them, AF most frequent arrhythmia during hospitalizations associated with significantly higher while arrhythmias are also common usually poor prognosis. Early diagnosis of potential arrythmias could be performed through ECG, Holter monitoring, and/or electrophysiology study. Clinical management these patients quite significant, it includes initiation amiodarone digoxin AF, electrical cardioversion, ablation specific indication, as well anticoagulants all patients, independent CHADS-VASc score, for intracardiac thrombus. Moreover, identification that benefit from prophylactic pacemaker implantation CRT ICD both increase survival rates improve their quality life.

Background: Cardiac failure is the major lethal consequence of aluminum phosphide (AlP) poisoning. This study was designed to determine the frequency of cardiac arrhythmias in patients with AlP poisoning. Methods: In this prospective cross-sectional study, patients with definitive history of AlP poisoning treated at emergency department of Allied Hospital Faisalabad, Faisalabad, Pakistan, from ...

PURPOSE OF REVIEW To summarize the available evidence concerning the occurrence and treatment of ventricular arrhythmias in patients supported with long-term ventricular assist devices (VADs). RECENT FINDINGS Approximately one-third of left ventricular assist device-supported patients experience significant ventricular arrhythmias, with higher rates in certain patient subsets. Ventricular arr...

Alcohol and arrhythmias: a comprehensive review.
The use of alcohol as a social lubricant has been ubiquitous in human societies since ancient times. It has also long been recognized that alcohol produces undesirable cardiovascular effects, especially when imbibed in excess. Numerous investigators have noted a causal relationship between alcohol and arrhythmias, as well as sudden cardiac death. We have undertaken a comprehensive review of the...
متن کاملAmyloidosis and the heart: a comprehensive review.
Infiltration of the heart from insoluble protein deposits in amyloidosis often results in restrictive cardiomyopathy that manifests late in its course with heart failure and conduction abnormalities. While the rare primary amyloidosis-related heart disease has been well characterized, senile amyloidosis occurring in the seventh decade of life most frequently affects the heart. Early diagnosis o...
